摘要
Post-conflict societies are those that, after facing decades of intra-state wars, are in a process of political stabilization where the impact of climate change has emerged as a threat multiplier of the armed conflict. Environmental Peacebuilding is the most applied approach in the postwar phase, originating from international agencies such as the World Bank and the United Nations Development Program, focusing on the effectiveness of natural resource management, land reform, and assessment of post-conflict environmental impact. This research note argues that the importance of a long-term resolution lies in the relevance of specific knowledge and participation of local communities, an aspect that seems pending in this approach. The article combines a review of theoretical, empirical and applied literature. It anticipates emphasizing aspects such as the restructuring of land access, environmental protection, and the monopolization of state violence as key aspects centered on the contribution of local communities for a stable peace.
