摘要
This work investigates the influence of silicon carbide nanoparticles on the AC breakdown voltage of synthetic ester oil MIDEL 7131. Two nanofluid samples are synthesized in weight percentage ratios of 0.002 and 0.004% w/w and the AC Breakdown voltage of them is measured according to IEC 60156 standard, while the results are compared to the breakdown behavior of a pure matrix sample. The results indicate that the increase in nanoparticles' concentration in the matrix leads to further improvement of the dielectric behavior of the corresponding nanofluid, while the improvement is lower than the one noticed in the natural ester oil case.
