In this study, two different zeolites (zeolite A, zeolite X) were synthesized by hydrothermal synthesis method from natural kaolinite, industrial fly ash and slag. Kaolinite, industrial fly ash, slag and synthesized zeolites were investigated as catalyst support materials for the hydrolysis reaction of NaBH4. IGC, XRF, XRD, SEM, N2 adsorption/desorption and FT-IR techniques were used for the chemical characterization and morphological determination of the samples. The maximum hydrogen production rate was achieved at 40 degrees C and 40 mg catalyst amount with the kaolinite-based CoB catalyst over zeolite X support (CoB/ZXK) at 1892 ml.g- 1cat- 1min- 1 and the activation energy was determined to be 53.65 kJ mol-1. The reusability of the catalyst was determined to be 90.17 % for CoB/ZXK. This perspective emphasizes the design of the catalyst and the importance of residues as catalyst support material for the NaBH4 hydrolysis reaction.
