摘要
Art education, often overlooked in academic curricula, holds a crucial role in the holistic development of students. This article presents three arguments in defense of its protection: first, it posits that art is a fundamental way to transmit culture, enabling students to understand their historical and social contexts. Second, it argues that art education develops practical skills, being the only subject that works with physical materials, which are useful in many areas of life. Lastly, the article defends art as essential knowledge in its own right, as valuable as science or the humanities. Even if students don't pursue art professionally, understanding artistic principles enhances their worldview. Therefore, art education is not only desirable but essential for a comprehensive education.
