摘要
In this paper, we present what we believe to be a new method for estimating the nonlinear refractive index of polarization-maintaining photonic crystal fiber using the phase shift between orthogonal polarization modes. This method is based on measurements of the spectra of light emitted from the photonic crystal fiber behind a Glan-Taylor prism, used as an analyzer, at different pump pulse powers and different Glan-Taylor prism orientations. The estimated n2 value of 2.5 cm2/W agrees very well with the values reported in the literature.
