"LECCION DE SOMBRA Y ETERNIDAD". MOTHERHOOD DEPICTION IN CARMEN CONDE DERRAMEN SU SANGRE LAS SOMBRAS

This article aims to address the topic of motherhood in the poetry of Carmen Conde. The analysis focuses on her collection of poems Derramen su sangre las sombras, written after the death of his only daughter in 1933. The research is framed within the recent academic interest in the topic of motherhood and its connection to textual corporality. Furthermore, the collection of poems dialogues with previous authors such as Emilia Pardo Bazan or Rosalia de Castro, as well as with her contemporaries Concha Mendez and Angela Figuera. The text is configured as a subversive diary of pregnancy and postpartum in which physical references to the process are present and which constitutes a fundamental testimony within autobiographical poetry.
