摘要
Thermal and moisture environments are prevalent in engineering applications. This paper introduces a Ritz-type solution based on the Chebyshev polynomials to investigate the effect of hygro-thermal conditions on the buckling and free vibration behaviours of functionally graded beams. A power-law distribution describes the smooth and continuous variation of material compositions across the beam thickness. Three types of functionally graded beams, including Silicon Nitride-Stainless Steel (Si3N4/SUS304), Alumina-Stainless Steel (Al2O3/ SUS304), and Zirconia-Stainless Steel (ZrO2/SUS304), are considered. The temperature and moisture profiles are examined under uniform, linear, and nonlinear scenarios. The beam displacement is based on Reddy's higher- order beam theory. The Lagrange equation is used to derive the governing equation. The Ritz method based on Chebyshev functions is developed to analyse functionally graded beams' buckling and free vibration responses. The influences of temperature and moisture variations, slenderness ratio, boundary condition, and material parameters on beams' critical buckling temperature and natural frequency are studied. The accuracy and effectiveness of the presented method are verified by comparing it with previous research.
