摘要
A novel small aperture direction finding (DF) system based on phase mode antenna (PMA) is proposed to estimate the angle of arrival of (AoA) signal without ambiguity. The DF system is based on a single dual-port PMA, which can achieve beam scanning continuously in xoz plane. The aperture size of the DF system is only 0.4 lambda x 0.47 lambda at 2 GHz. The simulated results show that the maximum DF error is less 2.3 degrees within the region of +/- 60 degrees in xoz plane. This novel DF system is simple and compact, which presents high application potential in small wireless systems.
