This study aims to characterize the scientific production in social and environmental responsibility in Brazil. For this, a bibliometric search was carried out on the Scopus platform, in which 223 articles were found using the filters established in relation to time frame (1972-2021), concentration area and region, and the most cited authors were Quelhas, OLG, Anholon, R., Leal Filho, W and da Silva, D. These articles were analyzed using statistical and graphical techniques. The results show that in Brazil, the themes began to have greater incidence among publications with the imminence of the Rio+20 Conference. Furthermore, it was possible to identify the main journals that publish in this area, as well as the most relevant authors on the subject. Regarding the subjects that are explored in these publications, it was observed that they are related to consumption, organizational performance, organizational strategies, analysis of Brazilian organizations, sustainable development, corporate social responsibility, sustainability and competitiveness. These results indicate that there is still much unexplored field of study, considering that this subject is relevant for organizations and has been the subject of so many agreements between nations.
