Tailoring of soft magnetic properties and giant magnetoimpedance effect in Co-Fe glass-coated microwires by Joule heating

摘要
We studied the effect of Joule heating on the magnetic properties and Giant Magnetoimpedance (GMI) effect of amorphous CoFe Co72Fe4B13Si11 microwires with metallic nucleus diameter around d = 25 mu m and total diameter D = 29 mu m. After Joule heating a decrease in coercivity and substantial increase in GMI ratio up to 650 % was observed. The frequency dependence of the maximum GMI ratio is evaluated: as frequency grows, we observed the onset of an additional peak on magnetic field dependencies of the GMI ratio and evaluated the frequency dependencies of said peaks for as-prepared and Joule heated samples. We discuss the observed experimental behaviors, considering the modification of the magnetic anisotropy and its spatial distribution in all samples.
