We investigate the application of glide symmetry (GS) and electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) technology in a glide-symmetric double corrugated gap waveguide (GSDC-GW) slow-wave structure (SWS) designed for traveling wave tube (TWT) applications. This structure offers the notable advantage of providing wideband operation while eliminating the need for a conductive connection between the top and bottom waveguide plates. Also, the backward wave does not have longitudinal field component. This study positions the GSDC-EBG structure as a promising candidate among SWS topologies for TWTs operating under similar conditions.
