摘要
A century ago, an Old Latin Diatessaron was a firmly grounded hypothesis based on close attention to the narrative sequence and wording of the Diatessaron's chief witnesses. However, recent scholarship has jettisoned that hypothetical text as unfounded and unnecessary. This article highlights textual and paratextual phenomena to reestablish the Old Latin Diatessaron as the best explanation for non-Vulgate wording in the western branch of witnesses.
