摘要
Introduction: The development of childhood overweight and obesity (SPOB) is multifactorial and although it is known that reducing caloric intake is essential to reduce its incidence, this practice is difficult to achieve due to the entrenchment of inappropriate eating behaviors in the early stages of childhood. life. Objective: To evaluate the relationship between breastfeeding, eating behavior and the development of SB-OB in preschoolers was determined. Method: A descriptive, correlational and crosssectional study was carried out in a population made up of 210 dyads (mother-preschool child), excluding children with diseases such as: diabetes, cancer, paraplegia and heart disease reported by the mother. The Children's Eating Behavior Questionnaire (CEBQ) was applied to evaluate eating behaviors. Results: The 22.4% of the children had childhood SB-OB and with respect to eating behaviors, it was found that voracity and emotional eating had the highest mean of 29.0 (SD 7.81) and these behaviors were associated with the duration of breastfeeding and with the start of infant formula, (Rho =-0.141 [p < 0.05], Rho =-0.165 [p <0.05]) respectively. Finally, it was found that the mothers' BMI and the attraction subscales predicted the child's BMI. Conclusions: The mixed breastfeeding, as well as early initiation of formula, contribute to establishing eating behaviors that promote the development of SB-OB in preschoolers.
