摘要
This paper presents a periodic leaky wave antenna (LWA) based on the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) transmission line TE20 mode with continuous beam scanning capability. Using the field distribution characteristics of the SIW TE20 mode, directional radiation is achieved using a single longitudinal slot, and open stopband suppression is achieved by controlling the length-to-width ratio. To enhance the gain of the LWA, dual-longitudinal slots with in-phase radiation sources are employed. Similarly, open stopband suppression is achieved by controlling the length-to-width ratio. Finally, LWA 1 and LWA 2 are formed by cascading 10-unit cells. Simulation results demonstrate that both LWA 1 and LWA 2 achieve broadside radiation. LWA 2 exhibits higher gain compared to LWA 1. The proposed LWAs are suitable as a candidate for millimeter wave beam scanning system antennas.
