Electronic pyroelectricity in a supramolecular assembly of an acceptor-donor-acceptor-type ambipolar π-system

摘要
Hydrogen-bonded supramolecular assembly of an acceptor-donor-acceptor (ADA)-type ambipolar pi-system containing naphthalene-diimide (pi-acceptor) and thiophene (pi-donor) conjugated chromophores is examined for promising pyroelectric (PY) and photo-PY properties. A maximum PY coefficient of similar to 206 mu C m-2 K-1 (at Tc) and multifold enhancement after light irradiation is reported. High energy density, power density and scaled efficiency indicate the efficacy of such a nontrivial system for flexible sensors.
