摘要
Authentication and identification of individuals in physical or logical systems are more than essential in many applications. Biometrics is one of the methods used to achieve this by attempting to guarantee a unique and universal form of identification. In this context, the present work implements a multimodal biometric authentication system that merges face and signature modalities using Dempster-Shafer Theory (DST). This theory models and combines the two modalities to increase system performance. The results of experimental tests on reference databases have demonstrated that the use of multimodality using DST improves authentication performance compared with face and online signature modalities taken separately.
