Levinas's eyes. An approach to the relationship between ethics and politics in the light of the ocular image in the philosophy of E. Levinas

The aim of this work is to identify the three levels of analysis that let us access the encounter between ethics and politics in the philosophy of Levinas. These levels are related to three ocular images in the philosophy of Levinas, the first level characterizes the objectification that makes us lose contact with the alterity of the other, the second refers to the ethical dimension and the third to the political dimension. We refer to the action of looking at another's eye colour, as witnessing the other's suffering and as looking at the third party in the other's eyes.
