Identity traces, an investigation of the urban place and the configuration of identities

"Identity Traces" is an interdisciplinary, participatory and multimodal artistic project that has proposed to develop exchange processes. Each group (adolescents and youth) follows its own trajectory in action and, at the same time, integrated with the rest of the participating people, to create spaces in which we allow ourselves to be "dyed" by perspectives that come from different contexts and experiences. Spaces that allow the construction of stories and new readings of territorial realities and identities, and that contribute to discovering "traces" of identities that are not "crystallized" in the past and that allow the influence of the emerging. A series of installations or multimodal performative actions of three urban spaces felt as significant in the territorial environment from the perspective of "mobile" identities has been proposed. It starts from some premises: the use of the "cow" icon, the idea of what "one is not" and "letting oneself be dyed". The repetition, the dyeing with inks, the transparency, the seeing through and its fragmentation take shape in the intervention. To this idea was added the choice of concept-objects that symbolize the relationship and identification of adolescents and youth with their community/territory. We work with different contemporary works and artists who explore repetition and everyday objects such as Warhol, Halley, Campano, Camnitzer and Tiscornia, the Lichtenstein comic, etc. The encounter with the urban place began to take on another dimension, it proposes, challenges, exchanges, we inhabit it attentive to its sounds, its wind, its presences, to be able to see and experience it more closely, to let ourselves be colored. The presence of abandoned buildings from the meat industry and the "Memorial of the Disappeared" during the civic-military dictatorship, began to propose a new way of seeing our proposal, a look that we could not ignore, but rather accept it and let ourselves resignify, affect.
