This study examines LGBTIQ+ representation in primetime Ecuadorian television programs. The content of 26 chapters of three series produced in Ecuador (2014-2021) was analyzed in order to determine the framing and tone given to LGBTIQ+ representation. The main findings indicate that Ecuadorian television series in prime time present: a null representation of LBTI+ women; greater representation of GTBI+ men; an association of representation with the low socioeconomic stratum, hypersexualization and comedy; as well as the performance of secondary and filler roles.
