摘要
This paper explores the concept of "influence" as textuality and relationship between the texts in Ian McEwan's novel, The Child in Time. By examining the intricate interplay between the characters' subjective experiences of the loss of child and the textual construction of the narrative, it suggests how the idea of influence permeates the novel on multiple levels. The analysis explores how influence shapes the idea of the text in terms of child loss and different shades of time. This study unravels the complex and dynamic nature of influence in the novel.
