摘要
The HIFU method (high-intensity focused ultrasound) has gained great popularity in aesthetic medicine in recent years. It is used primarily in rejuvenating the skin of the face, neck and cleavage and in body fat reduction. The ultrasound waves release a large amount of energy, increasing the temperature in the surrounding tissues, contributing to neocollagenesis and tissue remodelling and reducing the size of adipocytes in the adipose tissue. The results of current scientific reports seem to be promising. In the literature, we find articles on the use of the HIFU method in new indications. HIFU treatments, despite being minimally invasive, may be accompanied by complications. The following review analyses the use of the HIFU method, its effects and complications.
