摘要
This article rigorously examines the impact of digital transformation (DT) on facilities management (FM), with the goal of understanding its dynamics and providing strategic recommendations for improving FM practices. Applying a comprehensive multi-level approach and utilizing bibliometric tools such as the Biblioshiny R-package, our bibliometric study conducts a thorough examination of 780 documents obtained from reputable databases including Scopus and Web of Science. The analysis covers the period from 2003 to 2023. The results of our rigorous analysis demonstrate a substantial yearly increase, emphasizing the heightened academic attention toward the convergence of DT in FM. Thus contributing to the understanding of the evolving landscape. The utilization of visual techniques, such as the three-field plot and conceptual structure analysis, facilitates an in-depth understanding of the thematic progression over the examined timeframe. By consolidating findings, we emphasize the criticality of thorough integration of digital technologies, as demonstrated by the transformative capabilities of building information modeling (BIM), in order to efficiently address and rectify the inherent inefficiencies in existing facility management practices.
