摘要：

Infective endocarditis is a serious cardiological condition that can be associated with life-threatening complications. A basic distinction is made between complications that require immediate cardiac surgery and those that can be treated in other ways. This article aims to summarise the management of the most important endocarditis-associated complications in the light of the recently published new guidelines of the European Society of Cardiology.
