摘要
Faced with changes in the job market and an increase in poverty, informal work has become a survival alternative for a significant portion of the peripheral population. Women occupy even more vulnerable and precarious positions, with motherhood having a significant impact. This article aimed to reflect on the effects of motherhood on informal workers, based on scientific literature. To achieve this, an analysis of scientific articles was conducted using the CAPES journals portal, focusing on the themes of motherhood and informal work. The analysis was guided by the perspectives of Social Constructionism from 21 articles. There was a concentration of studies on infant health and nutrition, particularly emphasizing maternal breastfeeding and the necessity of a swift return to work. The studies were predominantly conducted in countries in Africa and Latin America, thereby highlighting the absence of perspectives on public policies in the global south.
