摘要
This study investigates the electrothermal properties and oxidation resistance of nickel-plated carbon fibers (CFs) for use in electric heating devices. The CFs were pretreated with heat and liquid-phase oxidation before electroplating with nickel, which increased surface roughness and improved interface strength. Electrothermal tests across a voltage range of 0.25-2.0 V showed that nickel-plated CFs achieved higher heating temperatures and stable performance, with the optimal sample showing a 400% increase in current and a 38% rise in heating temperature compared to untreated fibers. Additionally, the nickel plating enhanced oxidation resistance, making these fibers well suited for high-temperature electric heating applications.
