摘要
In this article, a series-type hybrid circuit breaker based on a totem-pole flying-capacitor multilevel injector-series-type hybrid circuit breaker (TPFCM-SHCB) is proposed, which uses the commutation ability of the totem-pole structure to obtain bi-directional fault-current breaking capability with much-reduced components. Furthermore, the proposed TPFCM-SHCB can realize the automatic residual energy recovery without any extra operation, avoiding the residual energy dissipation process in the conventional series-type hybrid circuit breaker (S-HCBs) and obtaining a self-restart ability. The operation principles and parameters design consideration of the proposed TPFCM-HCB are detailed. A hardware TPFCM-SHCB prototype is utilized to experimentally demonstrate the proposed solution can maintain the fast fault-current breaking ability (150 V/15 A/27 mu s) and balanced operation while obtaining bi-directional operation and residual energy recuperation abilities.
