摘要
In this study, thin films of titanium dioxide (TiO2) was prepared via a chemical method. The structural properties and surface morphology of the synthesized thin films was characterized using X-ray diffraction and atomic force microscopy. The X-ray diffraction results showed polycrystalline pure anatase TiO2 phase with a preferred orientation along the (101) plane of high crystallization degree. The atomic force microscopy image demonstrated that the TiO2 nanoparticles had a nearly uniform and homogeneous surface and were almost spherical in shape with an average grain size equal to 231 nm and the roughens equal to 15.7 nm, while the crystallite size was found to be about 38.5 nm. The absorption spectra show a peak at 300 nm wavelength with an absorbance of 0.84 which means that it exhibits good absorbance at the UV region. The transmittance of the sample is about (0.2-0.25)% in the visible area. TiO2 optical band gap nano powder is 3.1 eV. The thickness of the prepared film was 400 nm.
