This paper is devoted to a survey of the development of mock theta functions over the past 100+\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$$100+$$\end{document} years starting with Ramanujan (even a little before) and ending with the advent of the current explosion of research.
