摘要
The increasing global demand for sustainable agricultural practices necessitates innovative solutions to enhance crop productivity while minimizing environmental impacts. One promising approach involves harnessing endophytes, beneficial microorganisms that live within plant tissues, to promote growth, enhance nutrient uptake, and mitigate stress. Endophytes promote sustainable farming through advanced inoculation techniques, such as seed treatments, soil inoculations, foliar sprays, and root drenches, ensure efficient and consistent endophyte colonization. Innovative formulation and delivery systems, including encapsulation and bioformulations, protect endophytes from environmental stressors, enhancing their viability and efficacy. Integrating endophytes with sustainable practices like organic farming, conservation tillage, and integrated pest management amplifies their benefits, promoting soil health and reducing chemical inputs. Furthermore, endophytes' potential to enhance crop resilience to climate change through improved water use efficiency and stress tolerance is highlighted. The application of genomic, metagenomic, and synthetic biology approaches expands the scope of endophyte research, enabling the identification and optimization of beneficial strains. This comprehensive exploration underscores the transformative potential of endophytes in creating a more sustainable and resilient agricultural future.
