摘要
Sub-nanosecond pulse laser oscillation at 0.9 mu m wavelength band was demonstrated using passively Q-switching in Nd:YAG crystal. With a quasi-continuous wave diode delivering 9.5 mJ of pump energy, a pulse energy of 78.6 mu J is generated with a repetition of 120 Hz. The shortest pulse width and highest peak power achieved are 864 ps and 91.0 kW, respectively. To the best of our knowledge, this recorded pulse width is the first sub-nanosecond pulse achieved in the 0.9 mu m band with neodymium-doped crystals and tetravalent chromium-doped saturable absorbers.
