Cinetorhynchus himanshui sp. n. described from Lakshadweep was collected during the exploratory surveys conducted in 2023. This is the second known species of the genus Cinetorhynchus Holthuis, 1995 from the Indian waters. The species was identified as new based on morphological and molecular analysis. The new species is closely related to C. hendersoni in having spines on the abdominal somites, rounded pterygostomial angle, and three corneous teeth on the flexor margin of dactylus of the third pereopod. This species mainly occurs under the rocks along the intertidal region at a depth of 1 m. Together with the new species, individuals of C. hendersoni added a new record of the Cinetorhynchus genus in Lakshadweep waters. The collected specimens of C. hendersoni differed from the specimens of Okuno (1997) and are elaborated in the results.
