We study the existence and orbital stability of standing waves for a class of Schrödinger equations with L2\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$$L^{2}$$\end{document}-critical nonlinearity. By considering a minimization problem with bounded potentials, the existence of standing waves is shown by means of the concentration-compactness argument. Moreover, we establish the orbital stability of standing waves.
