This article in the journal Zeitschrift für Psychodrama und Soziometrie discusses transitions in the lives of teenagers and young adults. Adolescents experience physical and psychological upheavals on their way into adulthood, which can lead to a high degree of uncertainty with regards to their own identity (who am I and who do I want to be?) as well as partner orientation and sexual facets. Adults in the social atom are scrutinized and critically observed in terms of their values, attitude to life and relationships, while peers and influencers in social media make a big impression and their views are sometimes adopted uncritically. Psychodrama can give young people a glimpse into the future: by means of inner images, the path of life/timeline and role change, the cultural and social atom, dealing with role models and their meaning, they can succeed in finding their own way into adult life and learn to distance themselves from limiting external influences.
