Mapping on the publications of asphalt mixtures and gyratory compactor: a bibliometric analysis

A large quantity of asphalt mixtures is generated every year for construction of infrastructure and roadway pavement. Such kinds of mixtures have been simulated worldwide in the laboratory and the Gyratory Compactor has a strong correlation with field data. This study employed bibliometric techniques and visualized the scholarly articles from peer-reviewed journals in the Dimensions database dating back to 2001 using VOSviewer. A total of 2436 studies were exported with the terms “asphalt mixtures” and “gyratory compactor” in the titles of those studies. The objectives of this research are to identify the top authors, their document counts and citations, most productive countries, most publisher journals, organizations, and the link between authors, countries, and organizations of the existing literature in the research area. Statistics such as top published countries, authors, organizations and journals have been analyzed and plotted. The United States and China were the most prolific contributors found through this research. Whereas, Construction and Building Materials and Transportation Research Record Journal were the primary journals for publishing research articles. This study serves as a valuable resource for researchers who want to expand their knowledge in this field.
