摘要
This study investigates the synthesis of Ag/AgCl nanoparticles using Sargassum spp. extracts as reducing and stabilizing agents. Characterization by ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy revealed a broad band between 400 and 750 nm, indicating silver and AgCl nanoparticles. Scanning electron microscopy analysis identified quasi-spherical silver nanoparticles, ranging from 20 to 30 nm, within a cubic AgCl matrix. The catalytic properties of the nanoparticles were evaluated, showing a significant degradation capacity of rhodamine b and violet crystal in a short time by photocatalysis. Moreover, the nanostructures were embedded in a magnetic material, allowing successful reuse and maintaining the degradation efficiency of the nanoparticles for three and six cycles for rhodamine and violet, respectively. The Ag/AgCl nanoparticles offer a safe and environmentally friendly solution to degrade organic dyes.
