We examine the p-nilpotency and supersolvablitiy of a finite group under the assumption that certain subgroups of prime power order are S∗\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$$S_*$$\end{document}- embedded in the group itself. In particular, we extend and generalize the recent results of Li (Commun. Algebra 50(4):1585–1594, https://doi.org/10.1080/00927872.2021.1986056, 2022) and the related results in the literature.
