Following several years of market stasis, the North American scrap market can look forward to brighter skies on the horizon. THE US ferrous scrap market has been somewhat lacklustre and challenging for much of this year and - at least over the near term - it is expected to continue to be so, even with the new domestic electric arc furnace (EAF) steelmaking capacity gradually coming online.
