摘要
Aiming at the challenge of creating digital twin models within highly flexible systems, a methodology for designing a flexible discrete event system modeling and simulation platform was proposed. The methodology initiated with a thorough analysis of requirements and proceeds to construct a logical model for platform design. Based on this logical model, a comprehensive platform design approach encompassing three critical aspects: simulation engine, flexible twin model modeling and visualization was presented. To facilitate seamless integration between the platform and digital twin models, a data interaction mechanism built upon the event advancement principles of physical entity states and the optimization-oriented algorithm-driven step-by-step iteration process was introduced. To validate the effectiveness of the approach, a prototype platform named NextING was developed and conducted comparative testing with commercial simulation software Plant Simulation. The efficiency of the proposed methodology was demonstrated through case studies involving an assembly production line and a robotic mobile fulfillment system. © 2024 CIMS. All rights reserved.
