摘要
This letter presents a reconfigurable antenna designed for base station applications. The antenna employs PIN diodes controlled by a spider-shaped dc bias circuit to achieve both frequency and polarization reconfigurability. It has four contiguous tunable frequency bands, operating within the frequency range of 2.20 GHz to 3.50 GHz. These bands cover the mobile communication frequency bands n7, n38, b40, n41, and n78. Each frequency band offers 16 polarization directions, providing a versatile range of options for polarization configurations. The antenna exhibits gains higher than 8 dBi, radiation efficiencies greater than 70%, front-to-back ratios exceeding 19 dB, and half-power beamwidths ranging from 53 degrees to 62 degrees. This antenna not only covers the majority of mobile communication frequency bands but also offers the advantages of cost savings and channel contamination reduction.
