摘要
The largest organ of the human body is the skin, and diseases of the skin are more prevalent and affect the quality of life of people. Major categories of skin disorders are atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, vitiligo, melanoma, acne, fungal infections, etc. Delivery of drugs with the aid of conventional methods in the form of cream, gel, powder, etc. is suffered from penetration. Nanoformulation is demonstrated as most promising strategies against skin disorders due to its high stability, high permeability, retention, sustained release of drugs, and target drug delivery. Lipophilic and hydrophilic drugs can be delivered through nanoformulations like niosomes, liposomes, solid lipid nanoparticles, ethosomes, and transferosomes. This article evaluates recent nanoformulations against various skin disorders, delivery routes, and current scenarios. The toxicity aspect of nanoformulations is also summarized at the end of the article. This article also includes a bibliometric co-occurrence analysis of the last 5 years. As topical drug delivery of nanoformulation has demonstrated excellent outcomes for skin problems, regarding future research objectives, includes detailed studies on nano-formulations ability in various treatments to account for the various skin conditions.
