摘要
We investigated joint precoding schemes for multiuser, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO), dual-function radar communications (DFRC) systems in which the base stations collaborate 1) in only radar signals, 2) in only communications signals, and 3) in both radar and communication signals. For each scenario, we formulated an optimization problem and crafted a suboptimal algorithm that yields a high-quality solution employing semi-definite relaxation. A post-processing procedures is explicitly designed to generate rank-one solutions from the optimal solution of the associated relaxed problem. Simulation results indicated that the proposed collaborative precoding schemes for DFRC systems substantially outperformed their noncollaborative precoding counterpart and struck a good balance between different aspects of performance on various radar and communications metrics, such as transmit beam pattern, feasible probability, sum rate, and the MIMO radar's objective function.
