摘要
The completely autotrophic nitrogen removal over nitrite (CANON) process is an economical nitrogen removal technology, but its establishment is difficult due to the coexistence of aerobic and anaerobic functional bacteria. This study rapidly started CANON process by inoculating anaerobic ammonia oxidation (ANAMMOX) sludge and adjusting aeration rate within 25 days. The key to fast start-up is adjusting the aeration to firstly enrich ammoniaoxidizing bacteria (AOB) without destroying the activity of anaerobic ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AAOB). The aeration rate and nitrogen concentration were elevated to improve the nitrogen removal performance. Finally, the total nitrogen (TN) removal efficiency reached 82.4 % by optimizing alkalinity and the hydraulic retention time. The balance in Candidatus_Kuenenia and Nitrosomonas, which respectively accounted for ammonia nitrogen oxidation and TN removal contributed to the efficiency nitrogen removal. ANAMMOX sludge could be adopted as seed sludge for CANON process and the aeration rate was the key factor for the successful establishment.
