Development and Analysis of Dual Three-Phase PMSM With Phase-Shifted Hybrid Winding for Aircraft Electric Propulsion Application

摘要
A dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous machine (DTP-PMSM) with phase-shifted hybrid winding (PSHW) is proposed in this article for aircraft electric propulsion application. The DTP-PMSM amalgamates two distinct winding configurations: flat wire winding (FWW) and stranded round wire winding (SRWW), strategically arranged at an angle displacement from one another. The oil channel is placed between the two sets of windings to provide a heat dissipation path. In the article, the configuration of PSHW is first presented. Secondly, the elimination principle of stator magneto-motive force harmonics in PSHW is analyzed to obtain appropriate slot/pole combination. Then, the influencing factors and distribution characteristics of slot leakage field are analyzed to aim for the design method of hybrid winding. Moreover, a thorough comparative assessment between the conventional PMSMs and the DTP-PMSMs with PSHW is conducted, leveraging finite element analysis (FEA) across various electromagnetic performances. The analysis results affirm that the DTP-PMSM with PSHW exhibits superior attributes, including reduced copper loss, diminished permanent magnet (PM) eddy current loss, and minimized torque pulsation. Concurrently, it showcases commendable performance characteristics in terms of torque output capability, cooling efficiency, and fault tolerance. Finally, a 360-kW prototype of 54-slot/6-pole DTP-PMSM with PSHW is fabricated and tested to verify the theoretical analyses.
