摘要：

The thermal state of metal is estimated by mathematical simulation. From the results obtained, the chart of optimum exposure prior to next pouring is constructed as a function of an initial chill temperature and the molten cast iron temperature. The application of charts for interpouring exposures of cast iron of various composition and a movable gating system almost completely eliminate rejections due to cracking in the manufacturing process.
