摘要：
Arsenic contained in copper and lead-zinc ores must be removed in order to ensure high-quality production and to avoid unnecessary expenditure for storage of toxic arsenous wastes. A brief survey is made of the main areas of use of arsenic, and significant patterns in the production, consumption, and trading of arsenic in the capitalist world are noted.
