In this paper, the performance of a prototype solar cooling power plant is investigated to demonstrate the feasibility of using solar energy for cooling in Egypt. The results gained from the first run under actual solar and environmental conditions shows that it is highly advantageous and has great possibilities for use as a model of a solar cooling plant in different locations in Egypt. The selected places besides Cairo are Lower Egypt in the delta, Central Egypt at Assuit and Upper Egypt at Aswan.
