Synthesis of cyclohexene catalyzed by phosphotungstic acid

The research on the dehydration of cyclohexanol to prepare cyclohexene using phosphotungstic acid as catalyst is made. The most suitable conditions for the reaction are as follows: the mass ratio of catalyst to cyclohexanol is 1%, the reaction is carried out at a temperature range (oil bath) of 190 to approximately 200 C and the reaction time is 1 hour. The conversion rate can reach more than 89.1%, the product purity is 97.4% and the catalyst can be reused.
