Running just four hours a day, an automated bandsaw could cut enough blanks to feed a chucking auto section and pay for itself in six months. A volume producer of bandsawing machines took his move into higher-precision, more automatable saws to the point at which he can now offer three levels of control and tailored handling options. This article reports on these developments, from the perspective of Maschinenfabrik Forte GmbH, manufacture of the tool.
