Determination of dissolved argon in water by gas chromatography

A technique with a new gas chromatography process was described in this paper. Hydrogen was used as carrier gas. Sampling and analysis were carried out in vacuum under pressure about 1 Pa, and a gas chromatography, model 102, was adopted in experiment. A peak of unitary argon is acquired with a catalyst column and a column with 5A molecular sieve. The range of determination is 10-200 μL/L, the recovery rate is about 99.1%-102.6% and the relative error is better than ±5%.
