The authors studied the sorption of surfactant quaternary ammonium salts by hydrolyzed lignin. The characteristics of the synthetic surfactants are given. Least-squares treatment of the experimental data showed that in the investigated region of sorbate concentrations the straight line for the relationship according to one of the author's equations shows a smaller degree of dispersion than the straight line according to other types of isotherms (e. g. , according to the Langmuir isotherm). The fundamental possibility of extracting surfactant quaternary salts by sorption with hydrolyzed lignin was established.
